Of the five Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Cloaked Dahl is undoubtedly the most clandestine of the bunch. (This, of course, is why you've never seen him on the show.) Named for his pronounced resemblance to the marlene joy dahlia in his youth, at around seven years of age Dahlia nicked the "ia" ending and started wearing a long coat to hide his pretty shell, which had previously been the source of much teasing by his brothers. Shortly thereafter he began sticking to the shadows and casting spells in secret, one of which left him without a shadow himself. (This is why you've never seen his shadow on the show, either.) The Cloaked Dahl's weapon of choice is a shovel that he found in a graveyard one night. Though his fighting technique includes improvised thrusts, the bulk of his skill was learned by watching from the shadows as Splinter trained Donatello. Splinter never gave Dahl a weapon or offered to train him. Sometimes Splinter feels a little guilty about neglecting his fifth son, but what can he say? The kid creeps him out.
